Key West Scooter Rental - What Are You Waiting For?

Sunday 30 May 2010 @ 4:52 am

Florida’s Key West has long been a much loved spring break party destination for thousands and thousands of tourists. Terrific fishing and water activities compliment Key West’s rich history and excellent nightlife. Your first decision must be to look for one of the local Key West Scooter Rental providers and rent a scooter. It is an brilliant way to see the city.

Scooters equipped with the GPS Fun Tour, will guide you all-around Key West and automatically tell you enjoyable and remarkable stories of all the landmarks and sites you journeyed here to see. The three hour journey will leave you plenty of time for self exploration, so feel free to stop at the shoreline or do some shopping. You can travel at your own speed.

For instance, Key West Fun Rentals is situated in the heart of Key West and offers Scooter Rentals, Electric Car Rentals, and ScootCoupe Rentals by the half day, day or week. Scooter and ScootCoupe Rentals have long been the preferred means of transportation in Key West. The city offers free downtown parking for scooters and they honestly are the preferred way to tour the island. Their electric cars can seat up to 4 occupants and are wonderful if you have a bigger group. They too offer a Free Shuttle, and if you give them a call, they can gather you up at your inn, cruise ship dock, or the airport.

Scooters are motor vehicles. Just like your automobile back home. Stop at lights, follow all traffic signs, no sidewalks, and DUI’s are issued for operating them. No difference from a scooter to a car. There are free parking spaces for scooters where cars must feed a meter. Be on the lookout for groups of parked scoots and white stripes. Be warned! Parking in another place may earn you a ticket.

Avoid the aggravation of hunting for the much coveted parking spot in Key West. Opt for one of our small, compact and comfortable 2 seater scooters! These scooters will get you around the island and find you parking spots in no time! This is certainly the simplest means to make your way around Key West. Try either the 2 or 4 seater scooter, and you’ll discover it is unexpectedly comfortable.

Renting motor scooters in Key West can be risky. Having said that, you’ll see hundreds of tourists driving scooters here every day. There  are a considerable number accidents each year in Key West connected to scooters, with visitors and locals both involved. Simply be alert that the tiny streets can be unsafe. Take care because the locals want you to have happy and healthy stay at Key West!

During the rental procedure, the agent and you will look at your scooter to see if there’s any noticeable or previous damage. It would certainly be a smart to take some ‘before and after’ pictures of your scooter. That will make things easier for you and the agent if there are any disputes upon returning the scooter. I should also mention that there are local Key West Bicycle Rental vendors that have a wide selection of cool bikes available.

Great Wines in Croatia

Saturday 29 May 2010 @ 6:20 am

Island of Hvar is famous for its  autochthonic grape sorts out of which high quality wines are being produced in a traditional way. Manual work, no pesticides  and small yields per wine-stock turn a grape into a drop of gold.

It is no coincidence that the production of wine  on Hvar has developed beyond imaginable. The island of Hvar has an Adriatic climate influenced a great deal by the Mediterranean, mild winters, warm summers with high insulation of 2730 hours of sunlight per year (or 7.5 hours per day) are particularly favorable for winegrowing.

Favorable precipitation throughout a year and low humidity in the period of ripening have a good influence on the growth of grape and at the same time prevents the plant disease.

Several grape cultivars are used in wine production, primarily Plavac Mali and Plavac Veliki red wine grape varieties and Bogdanuša, Maraština and PrÄ white wine grape varieties. There are also Drnekušica, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pošip, KuÄ, Muscatel and several other old autochthonous cultivars.

The Plavac grapes are well known from Trogir to Ston; however, those grown on the island of Hvar are indeed special. Top quality wine plavac has a characteristic intensive dark ruby red colour, rich essence, relatively high percentage of alcohol, moderate  sourness  , fullness and harmony of taste.

The northern part of the island is characterized by complex topography – there are fields, hills and mounts favorable for growing Plavac grapes. Famous winegrowing locations in Pitve, Vrisnik, SvriÄe and Vrbanj give fruit that produce pleasant, fresh and balanced Plavac quality wines.

Along with top quality and quality wines, dessert wines (prosecco) and porto wine of 17 to 19 % of alcohol are also being produced. For this we can thank the prestigious winemakers who cherish the tradition of their fathers and of the island, and invest not only their enthusiasm and effort, but also their knowledge in oenology.

We would like to invite all fine wine lovers (and all those yet to become wine lovers) to visit the winegrowers of Hvar and their taverns. You can visit us at Hvar, Jelsa or Stari Grad.

The Disney Dream Is Definitely A Dream Ship!

Friday 28 May 2010 @ 4:52 am

There is a new ship that Disney is building and it sounds so imposing. It is the Disney Dream, which is the third addition to the cruise line fleet that Disney owns. This ship will really be something when it is ready to launch.

All the specifications are already being publicized. It is 1115 feet long, 125 feet wide at its widest area. This ship has 14 decks, which include a total of 1,250 staterooms. The vessel has a 128,000 tonnage. This means it can accommodate well-off 4,000 guests. It will take more than 1,458 members of the crew to take care of these guests during the cruises.

The Disney Dream is using all up-to-date technology along with a very classic design based on the early part of the 20th century. Sounds like a trip back to the time when cruising was at its best! Is all this making you want to see this ship for yourself? Why not plan a trip on it today? The only thing is though it will not be ready to cruise on until 2011. nonetheless, they are taking reservations now for the Disney Dream.

The same eye for detail is being used with the Dream as with the other ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Sophisticated, elegant direction mixed with the Disney’s great fantasy and power to tell a story. Through the art deco designs Disney is creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Now we come to this innovative AquaDuck, which is a water coaster that goes along the side of Disney’s Dream ship. You and your kids (48-inch height requirement) enter it on deck 12 and journey down, up, and around through a tube made of acrylic. This is a first aboard ship for Disney and at sea! Doesn’t it sound like fun? You get to ride on it for a full 765 feet and it drops a total of 4 decks. For the little kids there is Mickey’s Pool. This has Mickey Mouse’s face delightfully on the pool’s bottom. The build up of the pool is that of Mickey too. It also has a depth of 2 feet.

There is Donald’s Pool for the families which nearby has the Funnel Vision, which is a huge TV screen showing Disney classic animation for the class’s to take in. This screen measures 24 feet x 14 feet and is LED technology. There is also an eating area with Flo’s Café and a dance floor and stage for scheduled activities. Fun in the sun with your family, this has to sound so nice to you? For adult swimming you can escape the kids at the Quiet Cove Pool, which is for anyone 18 years or senior.

You and your family will find more entertainment too in the succeeding(a) places:

    * Buena Vista Theatre

    * Character Greetings

    * Walt Disney Theatre

    * Bon Voyage (snack and beverage bar)

    * Cove Café (adults only)

    * Currents (cocktail bar)

    * District Lounge

    * Evolution Lounge (dance club)

    * Skyline (cocktail lounge for only adults and breathtaking views)

    * Waves (an outdoor bar on deck 12)

These are just some of the exciting features for the Disney Dream my friend. There are many more things to be explored onboard your next Disney cruise vacation.
